Shawn Sprockett is a gay professor, designer, and resident of San Francisco. Spurred to action by the “don’t say gay” bills of his home state of Florida, he began documenting alternative perspectives on local queer history — particularly those of womxn and people of color — and offering those stories as a monthly walking tour program, Unspeakable Vice, through San Francisco’s lost gayborhoods.
